2015

  • SBGL has been awarded an ARC Discovery Project grant on "Transcription factor-enhancer-promoter based regulatory networks"

  • In collaboration with Julian Heng's lab here at the Perkins we have been awarded a grant from the Telethon Perth Children's Hospital Research Fund on â€œEstablishing a functional genomic analysis platform to study how genetic mutations cause childhood brain disorders and intellectual disability"

  • Congratulations to Rui Hou who will be joining the SBGL in 2016 on an International Postgraduate Research Scholarship (IPRS) and an Australian Postgraduate Award (APA) 

  • Marina Lizio (Al's RIKEN lab) published an important paper using a combination of siRNA knock-down, CAGE and ChIP-seq to map direct targets of pancreatic transcription factors (see: Frontiers in Genetics).

  • Jordan Ramilowski and Bogumil Kaczkowski (postdocs in Al's RIKEN lab) received poster prizes at IMGC2015 for their work on cell-to-cell communication networks (Nature communications) and Pan-cancer biomarkers (Cancer Research).

  • FANTOM5 phase 2 main paper 'Transcribed enhancers lead waves of coordinated transcription in transitioning mammalian cells' was published in Science!
